Alec Mena

Alec Mena serves as State Government Affairs Manager for Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW), a private, non-partisan, non-profit issue advocacy organization, where he tracks activities in the state legislatures and sheds light on costly public spending and regulation across the fifty states. He also writes on telecom policy for CAGW's Innovation & Technology Policy Center and serves as the organization’s liaison with state-based think tanks and advocacy groups. In a prior role at the Institute for Justice he coauthored the third edition of License To Work, a report chronicling occupational licensing laws across the U.S.

Originally from Los Angeles, Alec graduated Magna Cum Laude from Hillsdale College in 2019, earning a B.A. in Political Economy with a minor in Philosophy, and is pursuing a master’s degree in public policy at George Mason University.
